Nowadays, every human from a young age to adulthood is expected to receive education. It is an expectation so big that everyone will assume that all the people they associate with has gone to school or been home-schooled.

The education system to me is something that is highly dependent on who or what you are receiving information from. T From my past experiences of 10 years of school, some years one subject has been highly enjoyable, while in other years that wasn’t the case. The way different teachers guided me has drawn out the conclusion in every year whether I liked them or not, and I found that I also learned more from the teachers who were usually more supportive and forgiving. This was my experience with school.

From the 4 articles that I read, my thoughts pointed straight to some of the points that were expressed. I did agree with the article on teenagers when the author said that teenagers need to be teenagers, and the marks students receive on tests and assessment tasks are not as important as the effort and emotion that is put into tests. There were also some good statements in the robot article, about how the education system doesn’t draw out the pureness, originality/ creativity, and the skills to work in a place with many others. There are often times when I ask myself what school is really for. Pretty much all of the four articles talked about how grades can pull someone into a world where getting the highest mark is all that matters and the outside world factors like mental, social and often physical health is not considered.

What I hope to get out of Melbourne High School is an education system that isn't fully focused on A’s and A-plus’, but prepares me for the rest of my life, because I will most likely stop getting any sort of education system in my 20’s, which is a short time compared to the life span of mine after that. I want to learn how do become less reliant on others in my everyday jobs, and make sure I survive in the fast, changing and demanding world.
